Moving Forward Together: Update on the SR 224 Wildlife Mitigation Study

At Save People Save Wildlife (SPSW), we know that meaningful change takes time, collaboration, and respect. That’s why we’re encouraged by the thoughtful and thorough approach Rock Design Associates (RDA) is taking as they lead the Phase 1 study on wildlife-vehicle collisions along SR 224.

RDA has completed a Preliminary Draft of the Phase 1 report, which carefully examines not just road safety, but the full range of impacts any solution may have—on wildlife, water, plants, road users, topography, history, aesthetics, and the overall character of our region.

Before moving to the final version, RDA is asking for a review of the draft report and feedback from the workshop attendees. This inclusive process honors the voices of the many agencies and community members who gathered to share their expertise and insights on the critical nature of the SR 224 corridor on this community.

The final Phase 1 report is expected by the end of September 2025 and will reflect this collaborative input.

We are grateful that RDA is giving this project the time, respect, and diligence it deserves. Park City is a unique, vibrant, and passionate community, and any possible solutions need to reflect the community they serve.

SPSW remains committed to advocating for safe passage for wildlife and people alike, and we’ll continue to keep you updated as progress unfolds.
