SPSW Earns the Platinum Seal of Transparency from Candid—Here’s Why It Matters

We have exciting news to share! Save People Save Wildlife (SPSW) has just been awarded the 2025 Platinum Seal of Transparency—the highest honor bestowed by Candid (formerly GuideStar). This distinction places SPSW among an elite group of nonprofits that go above and beyond to openly share their goals, strategies, metrics, and results with the public.

What the Platinum Seal Means

  • Highest Level of Accountability: Platinum status shows that SPSW reports not only our financials but also our long-term impact data—how many wildlife-vehicle collisions we prevent, how many miles of habitat we reconnect, and how our projects improve driver safety and save taxpayer dollars.

  • Data-Driven Decision-Making: To earn Platinum, we published detailed performance metrics, outcomes, and learnings on our Candid profile. Donors, partners, and community members can now see exactly how their support translates into measurable change.

  • Trust and Confidence: Whether you’re a first-time donor, a corporate partner, or a public agency, the Seal is an independent stamp verifying that SPSW stewards every dollar responsibly and leverages it to deliver maximum impact for people and wildlife.

How We Got Here

From the landmark Parleys Summit Wildlife Overpass to our current independent engineering study of State Route 224, SPSW has always paired rigorous science with transparent reporting. Over the past year we:

  1. Standardized Collision-Reduction Metrics across project sites.

  2. Published Annual Impact Dashboards showing collision hot spots, cost savings, and wildlife-movement data.

  3. Expanded Financial Disclosures.

These steps not only strengthened internal accountability but also met Candid’s highest reporting thresholds—earning us Platinum status on the first submission.

Why It Matters to You

  • For Donors: You can give with confidence, knowing your contribution directly funds data-driven solutions that make Utah’s roads safer.

  • For Partners and Agencies: Transparent metrics foster collaborative planning, unlock matching funds, and streamline permitting for future crossings.

  • For Community Members: Our open data empowers you to advocate for wildlife-friendly infrastructure in your own neighborhood.

Get Involved

  1. Explore our Candid profile to see the full data set behind the Platinum Seal.

  2. Share the news on social media—spread the word that Utah values transparent, impact-focused conservation.

  3. Donate or volunteer to help us tackle the next collision hot spot before the 2034 Olympic spotlight shines on our region.

Thank you for trusting SPSW to find ways to implement solutions to the wildlife vehicle collision problem.  With your continued support—and the Platinum Seal to prove our impact—we’re ready to build an even safer, more connected future for all.
